Lucy has been growing and changing so much this past week, I've wanted to blog about it and take more pictures, but unfortunately I've just been way to exhausted! I think Lucy decided this week that she had been too good of a baby so far and that her mom and dad needed a challenge. For about 4 nights now, Lucy has been waking up in the middle of the night before feeding time, and then sometimes every 15-30 minutes after she eats. I'm not sure what's going on - we have brainstormed everything that could be causing these disturbances but I just can't figure it out... or my brain has stopped functioning from lack of sleep. I just want my sleepy little girl back! I miss the days when I had to set my alarm so she wouldn't miss a feeding... now we start out in the crib, but move to the pack n play by our bed in the middle of the night so I can pop the paci back in as many as 10-15 times a night.
Called the doctor about it today, but they didn't really have a solution - maybe a growth spurt? maybe just getting used to the crib? who knows! all I know is that I hope this too passes...
Fortunately, Lucy has been all smiles during the day. She continues to amaze me as she grows and changes. She talks all the time now - sometimes even while I'm trying to feed her! In which case we take a break so she can tell me all about the wonders of her world. She rolls on to one side now and can sit on her own in the bumbo! She is so strong! I even put a little piano in front of her and was amazed as she banged the keys over and over again... she's so smart!
I think she's beginning to discover her hands and feet might just be connected to her body...

These boots are made for walking...
Lucy's sneakers - so cute!!
Some of my new tricks: I like to bring my hand to my mouth and suck on it...
I like standing up while mommy or daddy holds me...
I love playing with daddy... he's funny...
I just had to post the high socks, no pants look - it reminded me of Lucy's uncles - Luke and Matt, who always wear high socks with their shorts. Those shots are for them.
Crib update: We had two successful nights in the crib!!! Lucy slept for 7 hours (doctor said to only let her do 6, but I think she's growing fine, and I'm still having to wake her... so I know she's not starving!) Lucy has no problem falling asleep on her own and doesn't seem to mind the transition at all. We are so lucky.

2 Month Stats
11 pounds, 8 ounces (69%)
23 inches (76%)
Took shots like a champ - cried while she was getting them, but as soon as I picked her up she stopped crying, sucked on her pacifier for a minute and then fell asleep. I was amazed at how smoothly it went!

2 Months Old
Lucy is 2 months old today! The time has gone so fast, I can't believe 2 months has already passed. We go to the doctor tomorrow to get official weight and height stats, and Lucy's first set of shots... not looking forward to that.
Things Lucy loves to do: talk/sing/babble with mommy and daddy, take baths, play on her play mate, read, roll over on one side, follow mommy and daddy's voices, hold her head up while on her tummy, put weight on her legs while mom/dad hold her... and the usual, eat, sleep and poop.
Check out my cool outfit... I'm practically a teenager
And of course, her absolute favorite thing to do is smile...

Mother's Day
My first Mother's Day with Lucy. Most of the day felt pretty much the same, celebrated with the Wehner's, then celebrated with the Wagner's... but this time I got to snuggle with my own little girl at the end of the day.
So thankful for our own moms on this day... and what an amazing example they gave us as parents.
We planted a tree. Now every year as Lucy grows, we can watch the tree grow too. Let's just hope we don't kill it - I'm afraid taking care of a baby, a dog, a house and a husband might just leave the tree on the back burner.
Smiles
I got these two videos a couple weeks ago, and realized after watching them that they don't even fully express how smiley Lucy is... I'll need to get more video this week! Lucy spends more time smiling and cooing than crying, we are so blessed! Her faces and excitement bring so much joy to my heart, it's amazing how much she lights up my day. Sometimes I'll be changing her diaper and she'll let out this big squeal, like she's so excited about the new diaper she just can't help herself! I wish going to the bathroom made me that excited :)

Crib: 1, Wehner's: 0
We tried moving over to the crib this week, but think we're going to wait a couple more weeks for the full transition. Lucy doesn't seem to mind sleeping in the crib, but the pacifier falls out much easier, waking her up, pulling me out of the room to pop it back in, which then starts the whole process of falling back asleep again. It's much easier to have her right by my side in the middle of the night to feed her and get her back to sleep (I say after sitting in the glider for 1.5 hours one night last week), so I think we'll wait to make the transition till she is sleeping a little longer through the night.
Hoping the doctor will let me let her sleep longer in the next couple weeks. Still having to set my alarm and wake her up at the 6 hour mark. What a perfect sleeper! We couldn't ask for a better baby.
Always Be Prepared
I took Lucy out to lunch with Beth, Courtney and I at McAlister's this past Thursday. I feel like a pretty prepared mom when I head out of the house, but the picture below shows that I wasn't fully prepared for the blow out that would happen that afternoon... that's how my little girl had to come home from McAlister's...
Lucy had a blow out in her pants and while I was changing her into her new outfit in the changing room she peed all over the extra outfit I had with me! Not to mention it was my first time changing her in public, the changing table (when pulled down) blocked all the stalls so 2 people were standing there watching me (waiting to go to the bathroom), and then I had to carry my little girl through the restaurant in nothing but a diaper and receiving blanket!
I guess next time we go out we'll bring two outfits with us.
Lucy didn't seem to mind though...

6.5 Weeks Update
My first Polo - thanks to the Chenoweth's I am ready to be a Kappa
My favorite sleeping position, also one of my last night's in the bassinet... moving over to the crib this week
Happenings this week:
I'm pretty sure Lucy went through a growth spurt, she was hungry much more frequently than her normal schedule and seemed to want to eat for long periods of time. I'm looking forward to her next scheduled weigh in at her 2 month check in! And I think her baby acne is finally starting to clear up... yay!
We also hosted our first party (a housewarming party for Kristy) since the baby was born, thanks to the help of Erin, Katy, and Anne. It was a little more hectic with a baby to take care of, but I was glad that we could start to get back into the swing of things in our social life!
I went for my 6 week postpartum checkup and found out I have an infection from the episiotomy. The news was kind of bitter sweet - bitter, obviously, because I've been in a lot of pain lately and haven't really felt myself since Lucy was born... sweet because I finally know what has been causing me so much pain and with antibiotics there is an end in site! Hoping to be cured and to be able to start running at the end of this week.
